Disney's Yacht Club

Disney's Yacht Club is a deluxe resort and Disney convention center with a New England nautical theme immediately adjacent to Disney's Beach Club resort in the Disney World Epcot Resort Area. The resort is located along the shores of Crescent Lake, with a beautiful view of the Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin resorts across the lake. The proximity of the five resorts within the Epcot resort area means you have lots of dining, shopping and entertainment options within walking distance. This resort has both standard rooms and Suites and, in many ways, is the most adult feeling Disney resort. The highlight of the Disney Beach and Yacht Club Resort is Stormalong Bay, an immense 750,000gallon pool with artificial sand that's designed to fall to the bottom of the pool so the water stays clear....leave it to Disney to take care of details like that. Stormalong Bay has a pirate ship shaped waterslide, a "lazy river" type channel, whirlpools, and zero entry beach area.

Yacht Club Pro & Con

Advantages - Disney's Yacht Club is within walking distance of Epcot. The proximity to Disney's Boardwalk Inn, Disney's Beach Club, and The Swan and Dolphin resorts provide lots of convenient options for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Poolside movies, resort activities, and a beautiful and peaceful setting make this resort well suited for relaxation. The Atlantic Dance Hall and Jelly Rolls Dueling Piano Bar at the nearby Boardwalk resort provide nighttime options for those who want a little excitement with their relaxation. The Storm-Along Bay Pool (shared with the Beach Club resort) is nothing short of amazing, providing fun for all ages. This is a great resort for anyone who will spend time at the resort - rather than spending all of your time in the theme parks. The view of the Boardwalk resort across the lake only adds to the fun, resort setting.

Disadvantages - Transportation can be slow when shared with the other Epcot area resorts. The deluxe resorts are expensive and may not be the best value if you'll be spending most of your time in the theme parks. There is no character meal or themed dining at this resort; depending on your perspective, this can be a good or a bad thing. The adjoining Disney Beach Club Resort does feature a character meal.

Our Opinion of Disney's Yacht Club Resort

We don't deny that the Magic Kingdom monorail loop is really cool but, honestly, Disney's Yacht Club and the Epcot resort area is a great alternative even if it isn't near the Magic Kingdom or the monorail. The setting is pretty and the pool is amazing. You really can skip the theme parks and still have a great vacation while staying at the Yacht Club. The proximity to all the Epcot resort area hotels, restaurants, and activities makes this resort an ideal choice. You're right next to Epcot which means anyone with a Magic Your Way Park Hopper ticket has access to an incredible number of restaurants. If this resort is out of your budget for your whole vacation, consider staying here for a night or two at the beginning or end of your trip - it'll be the most restful part of your vacation. The Yacht Club provides a quieter alternative, if the Beach Club and Boardwalk are a little much for you. The one thing we really don't like about the Epcot resort area is that all five resorts sometimes share the bus and boat transportation which means extra stops and extra time to go anywhere. Plan on using a taxi if you need to be somewhere in a hurry.
