~ Disney World Pirates at the Magic Kingdom ~

Main Street USA / Castle Forecourt - Dream Along With Mickey - Cute musical show with dancers and Disney characters - including Captain Hook, Peter Pan and dancing pirates. Adventureland: Pirates of the Caribbean ride - this is a fairly gentle boat ride with a few little drops. This ride pre-dates the movie series but several of the scenes from the ride were included in the movies and then the ride was adapted to include Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbosa. This could be a little frightening for very young riders - it made my own son a bit nervous as a youngster until we armed him with a plastic sword from the gift shop.

Adventureland: Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial - Learn the skills most important to a pirating lifestyle from Captain Jack Sparrow and his first mate, Mack. Members of the audience may be selected to try their skills in a sword fight. 20 minute show, offered several times a day - consult your Magic Kingdom Times Guide for exact times during your visit.

~ Best Disney Resort Hotels for Pirates ~

Really, any Disney hotel is much cleaner and more comfortable than your average pirate ship. As pirates, you may want a change of scenery when they come into port so go with the resort that suits your taste. Here are a few pirate themed options:

Disney'sBeach CluborYacht ClubResorts - This is a deluxe resort so you may want to consider this option after a particularly good pirate raid. The Storm-Along Bay pool is shared by these two resorts and is an incredible sand-bottomed pool with a pirate ship slide.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort - Moderate resort. Pirates that sail the Caribbean Sea will feel right at home in this beautiful and colorful resort. The pirate fort themed pool has a zero-depth entry. There is also an elaborate pirate ship themed splash zone for young swashbucklers to enjoy. This resort has some really cute pirate themed rooms but I have to warn you that they are in the buildings that are farthest from the food court and feature pool; they also have pirate ship beds that cannot accomodate a full-thickness mattress and some older pirates find the thinner mattress a little uncomfortable.

TheGrand Floridian Resort and Spa is not especially pirate-y but I wanted to mention that their food court "Gasparilla Grill & Games" is named after Jose Gaspar. According to legend, Gaspar was a pirate that sailed the waters near Tampa Florida.

Me Pirate Adventure - Any Walt Disney World Resort - Beginning October 21, 2011 - Cost: $395. Now, you know for sure there's mischief afoot. Inside, next to an eerie, red-eyed skull is a note from Captain Jack that sets you on a quest. This and other pirate gear provide just what you need to live the life of a buccaneer. So, dig into your pirate sack and follow the riddles to Captain Jack's chest...and...if you are a worthy crew, the treasure inside will be yours. But don't be too hasty, as Captain Jack says, "It's not the destination so much as the journey...savvy?"

The Sea Chest hotel in Treasure Island, Florida - Would you like to spend a little time at the beach? Treasure Island is on Florida's Gulf Coast, south of Clearwater. Treasure Island got its name after several property owners attempted to boost sales of the properties being developed on the island by first burying and then pretending to discover a couple of wooden chests on the beach around 1915. After claiming the chests were filled with treasure, the news of the discovery quickly spread and people began calling the island Treasure Island. Treasure Island saw a surge in residential home and hotel growth following World War II through the 1950s and the town certainly feels like a step back to a simpler time. The beach is very nice. The Sea Chest is wonderfully maintained, with a great vintage feel. The pool, barbeque area, and wonderful walkway out to the beach make this a perfect location for a relaxing family stay without breaking your budget. For more information, see:

~ (Yo Ho) A Pirate's Life For Me song lyrics ~

From the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We pillage plunder, we rifle and loot.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We extort and pilfer, we filch and sack.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
Maraud and embezzle and even highjack.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We kindle and char and in flame and ignite.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
We burn up the city, we're really a fright.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

We're rascals and scoundrels, we're villians and knaves.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
We're devils and black sheep, we're really bad eggs.
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

We're beggars and blighters and ne'er do-well cads,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.

Tip: Don't pick this song for Karaoke night on a Disney ship unless you're prepared to sing for a long, Long, LONG time.
