Disney has announced that the Wishes Fireworks in the Magic Kingdom will be ending May on May 11th and will be replaced on May 12th with “Happily Ever After,” a new nighttime spectacular that will combine the magic of Disney storytelling, beloved Disney characters, fireworks and so much more.

According to Disney, "The spectacular will inspire guests to seek out and find their own “Happily Ever After” by showcasing some of the greatest adventures Disney characters have taken to achieve their dreams. The show will feature the latest fireworks and pyrotechnics and original animation, plus a heart-tugging original score. And thanks to the inclusion of state-of-the-art projection mapping technology, more Disney characters than ever before will be featured in the show, including moments from “Moana,” “Brave,” “Big Hero 6,” “Zootopia,” “The Princess & The Frog,” “Aladdin” and many others."

The Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace will continue to offer up a scrumptious way to view the nighttime fun as “Happily Ever After” makes its debut.

Disney World Tip - Wishes Fireworks Viewing Advice

In spite of what you might have heard, standing right in front of Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom is not the best place to view Wishes! If you stand right in front of the castle, you will be looking almost straight up and will miss a lot of the fireworks.

Disney World Advice - Tips for watching the Wishes Fireworks in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Here is a side view of Wishes (Christmas Wishes to be exact!). You can see how far away some of the fireworks really are!

Disney World Advice - Tips for watching the Wishes Fireworks in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Here is a side view of Wishes (Christmas Wishes to be exact!). You can see how far away some of the fireworks really are!

As you can see in the shot I took from the side of the castle, over near Big Thunder Mountain, the fireworks are far behind the castle! In order to see the full magnitude and beauty of the fireworks, the best viewing area, in my humble opinion, is right as Main Street opens up into the hub. You will be close enough to see the majesty of the castle, while being far enough back to see the magnitude of the fireworks. My absolute favorite spot to watch Wishes from?!?!? Hmmmm....that's a secret that I share with my clients! :)
