Disney World Mobile Ordering Now Available with Disney Dining Plans, Credit Cards and debit

Disney Mobile Ordering now available for Disney Dining Plans and Debit/Credit Card orders at many Disney World Quick-Service restaurants.

Disney Mobile Ordering now available for Disney Dining Plans and Debit/Credit Card orders at many Disney World Quick-Service restaurants.

Did you see the announcement today that you can now use your Disney Dining Plan credits to take advantage of mobile ordering at the Disney World quick-service restaurants?   Quick-service restaurants are where you traditionally have ordered your food at the counter and carried it to the table.  With Mobile Ordering, you can totally skip the line to order your food; here's how it works....

Let's say you and your family are in line to see Festival of the Lion King at Disney's Animal Kingdom and you plan to have lunch at Pizzafari after the show.   You can use that time waiting for the show to order your lunch through the MyDisneyExperience app.   After the show, you just head over to the restaurant and, when you arrive, you go into the app and click the "I'm here - Prepare My Food" button while you and your family find a table.   The app will let you know when your food is ready to be picked up at the Mobile Ordering Pick-Up Window and the appropriate number of dining credits are deducted from your plan.  It is as easy as that!

Available for Credit Card payment too:  Don’t have a Disney Dining plan? That's fine - you can still pre-order using the app and pay with the credit card you've linked to your MyDisneyExperience account.   Mobile Ordering is not available when paying with cash.

Disney's Dark Side - Flame Tree Barbecue

Since this is Halloween week, I thought it would be fun to point out an example of Disney's darker sense of humor as seen on the Flame Tree Barbecue sign.

All about the predator/prey theme at Flame Tree Barbecue in the Animal Kingdom park at Disney World.

At first glance, it seems looks like a bright and colorful sign featuring lots of animals, which makes sense given that this is Disney's Animal Kingdom park.  But did you notice that there is a predator/prey theme through out the whole sign?   We'll start at the bottom, which has a cute little turtle eating a bird.   On the turtle's back, is a small animal being eaten by snake but the snake is also getting bitten by a bug.   On either side of the menu are two rabbits that are carried off by an owl.  Finally, at the top of the sign is a fish being eaten by an alligator.

The theme continues when you and I are the predators who consume the yummy food offered at this quick-service restaurant featuring St. Louis style ribs, turkey legs, pulled pork and smoked turkey sandwiches, and chicken.    The tables are all outdoors and some overlook the lake in the center of the Animal Kingdom.   Once, I snagged a great table near the lake and was delighted to notice a little alligator (pictured below) watching us eat our lunch from the water.   Maybe they need to change the top of their sign so that the alligator is eating a tourist who is eating a barbecue ribs and chicken combo!  (This is a good spot to start singing"The Circle of Life" song from the Lion King).
