Where to find Santa at Disney World - Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Disney Springs.

Mickey Mouse and the Disney Princesses are great, of course, but sometimes we just need to get a word in with Santa before he checks the naughty and nice list for the last time before making his rounds. Here are the places you can meet Santa Clause at Disney World:

Magic Kingdom - Meet Santa Claus in Town Square daily from 10AM to 5PM daily during posted times, typically at 12. Santa also appears in the Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade.

Epcot - Meet both Santa and Mrs. Claus daily in the American Adventure pavilion during posted 70-minute intervals, typically at 11:45AM, 1:45, 3:45, and 5:45PM.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios - Meet Santa Claus from November 9 to December 24 and Santa Goofy from December 25 to December 31, 2018.

Santa’s Chalet in Disney Springs - November 8 - December 24, 2018 from 11AM to 11PM. You’ll find Santa’s cottage near the Christmas Tree Trail close to the Once Upon A Toy store in the Disney Springs Marketplace area. Here’s how it works:

  • Check in at the podium.

  • Give your mobile phone number to one of Santa’s helpers

  • Shop, eat and enjoy the hustle ‘n’ bustle of the Marketplace

  • Upon receiving a text message from Santa’s helpers, return to the podium within 10 minutes

  • Take your place in line to meet Santa!

  • Photos with Santa are included in the Disney PhotoPass Memory Maker package or you can bring your own camera.

Disney Springs - Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Clause at T-Rex on December 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, and 16, 2018 with seatings at 8AM, 8:15AM and 8:30AM. Cost: $32 for age 10 - Adult, $20.50 for children ages 3 - 9; price includes tax and gratuity. Call 407-939-3463 to make your reservation.

Important Information About Crowds

On a scale of 1 – 10, the crowds will be mostly 9’s or 10’s during these dates.

  • Early birds get the most rides: The first 1 – 2 hours of the day are always the least crowded.  Arrive at least 30 minutes before 8AM park opening to enjoy the shortest lines of the day.
  • Please, please please use a touring plan: Use the plans from the Unofficial Guide to Disney World (printed guidebook) or get a subscription to TouringPlans.com – these crowd levels are where a good touring plan provides the biggest benefit so please use those plans.  Contact me if you don’t know where to find the plans or have questions about how they work.  I’m happy to help.

Dia de Los Muerto at Disney World

Certain elements have been incorporated into the "Gran Fiesta Tour with the Three Amigos" ride in the Mexico pavilion at Epcot.  Skeletons and skull masks (called calacas) are a a recognizable part of modern Day of the Dead celebrations. (Did you notice the Donald Duck pinata under the arch, in the background of the picture below?)

Do you see the Donald Duck banner? This is a Disney-fied version of a folk art called Papel Picado, which means punched or perforated paper, and are usually made by punching or cutting designs into tissue paper, using small chisels. They are used to decorate a lot of events but skeletons and the color pink are a common theme in banners used in Day of the Dead altars.
