May 2008 Special Events, Activities and Alerts.
Your trip is coming quickly and the May Park hours with fireworks & parade times are posted for the Walt Disney World® Resort. Because Dining Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance, you can make dining reservation now. It is to your advantage to make your Dining reservations sooner rather than later - especially if you're interested in Cinderella's Royal Table, LeCellier, Boma, Chef Mickey's, Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue, Mickey's Backyard Barbeque or the Fantasmic! Dinner Packages.
May is a fantastic time to visit Walt Disney World® Resort The crowds are very manageable, the weather is warm enough to enjoy your resort pool and the water parks, and May has less rain than June. You do need to be aware that the SpectroMagic parade won't be offered every night at the Magic Kingdom so you should plan accordingly. If you go during the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival, you'll want to avoid Epcot on the weekends because this event tends to draw local weekend crowds. You will see crowd levels begin to build as you approach the Memorial Day holiday weekend. We can help you manage these issues and have a great vacation.
Disney's Hollywood Studios - May early closures
There are three nights in May where Disney's Hollywood Studios closes early – at 7:00 PM. This is important because the evening show FANTASMIC will not be offered these nights. FANTASMIC is very well done and I would hate for you to miss it.

• Tuesday, May 6
• Monday, May 19 th If you are not staying at a Disney resort, you want to be especially careful to avoid May 19 th because Disney resort guests will be in the park one hour before you are eligible to enter. They'll be ahead of you in line, the park closes early, and no FANTASMIC . There are no good reasons to be here on that day.
May 2008 Closures
Disney's Hollywood Studios (formerly Disney-MGM Studios) – Journey into Narnia will be closed from January 2 - May 23, 2008
Epcot - Nine Dragons Restaurant in China will be closed from April 6 - November 30, 2008 for an extensive renovation.
Caribbean Beach Resort - The themed pool, Old Port Royale Caribbean Beach will be closed for refurbishment between January 7, 2008 and September 15, 2008. Small, child-size, pool slides will be temporarily added to the pools at Villages of Jamacia and Barbados.
Contemporary Resort - The Concourse Steakhouse is scheduled to close for good beginning May 11, 2008 (May 10th is the last day of dining). The area will be rehabbed into a new permanent quick service restaurant, which will open in fall 2008.

You can choose to our custom touring plans or, if you prefer, we'll provide a high quality online subscription Disney planning membership or an excellent guidebook with standard plans to you free of charge. We'll do everything possible to keep your time in line to an absolutely minimum.
